Saucy Redhead

IMG_8822_edited-2.jpg

The Saucy Redhead!

This is Ms. Meg aka Nut Meg. She is one of my winter charges. I have a friend who works in Florida in the winter and his two horses come and stay with us. They are a welcome addition to the herd. Her personality is fantastic. And she is always up for a display of attitude. If memory serves me she is in her early 20's.

Wish I could get a do-over on this one. Would like to meter it better. Wish that I would have 'overexposed' it by about 1 1/2 stops.

Sigh

Shoot and learn....

It's still a great capture!!! The composition is fantastic, not easy to do with a girl who is jumping around showing you she still feels young :-)

I love how her main curls and how it stands out against the white snow. Pretty!

I think it looks great.

What is the life expectancy for a horse? She looks very good to me, nice shot.

Thanks Everyone!

Kit....I thought maybe I could have lightened her up just a bit. Just lost her color. She is cooper penny bright in real life! Hard to meter in the snow with the sun!

Claudia...I'm pretty sure that she is 23. And I would say that she is officially in her 'old age' years for a horse. She doesn't act it though.

Hey there is always Photoshop and Raw Editor to do a bit more tweaking.......I'm just saying.
But I love this picture just the same! What is it about those redheads? Looks like she was having a good time having a snow bath.

Amy,

Starting on the 25th of this month I'm going to address my 'Photoshop Disability'!

6 week Photoshop Basics class in my future.

The first thing they do is roll and roll and roll in fresh snow. Get up. Run around. Then roll some more.

Ah, more snow. I'm not getting tired of seeing it yet. I'm just wondering how much the horses do or don't enjoy the snow.

what a WONDERFUL photo !
Wow......

Firefly....they seem to really enjoy it. They only time they are standing at the gate wanting back in the barn is the middle of summer....the heat and the black flies are brutal. But I do think that overall horses are much better equipped to handle the cold then they are hot high humidity temperatures.
