Day 12 - Big Boy

Can you guess which project is about to start? Hint....Barrack did not come through with funds. We are on our own.

As an aside...I just want to say that Photoshop makes me feel pathetic, useless, and like I need a nap, snack or a slap. I wanted to recover some of the lost highlights on this photo mainly on the top of the boom where the yellow is washed. The original is shot in raw..... anyone willing to take a raw copy and make SOMETHING happen then tell me how you did I can try to duplicate?

Day 11 - Cultivated vs Wild

The beautiful Pink Diamond Hydrangea aka Hydrangea paniculata 'Pink Diamond' competing for attention with Goldenrod (Solidago something... not sure which one exactly). You can see which one I think the winner is.

Day 10 - Hoofin' It

You know how people take picture of there childrens hands and feet being held by a parent or adult.

Well...I don't have children so I thought I would practice this type of shot on the pony. Scout didn't mind but the Farrier was a little uncomfortable about the camera at first.

Low light handheld shots are challenging. Stopping the motion was tough. Could have cranked up the ISO a little more. I'll try it again the next time the Farrier comes back.

Day 9 - A River Runs Through It

Dear Mr. President Obama (if that is the wrong salutation I apologize),

Please send money....

We have crumbling infrastructure here at the farm. The main line from the Well that feeds all our homes and buildings is slowly deteriorating. I woke up this morning and went out to walk the dogs only to find that the 'Sugar Shack' now has a mote. That's right.....a mote.

Please do not send Home Land Security, ATF, NSA, FBI, or the CIA.... we did not plan the mote. It is not part of a farm home security plan. We have a busted main line.

Please send some 'Infrastructure Funding'. You know that bill you passed to fix up the roads, bridges, dams, electrical grid, water ways.

Do not send a team of engineers, OSHA, DER, DEP, Prevailing Wage workers and supervisors, the operators union, a host of brand new shiny equipment. We don't want to turn a $80 job into a $80,000 job.

Just send the check.....80 bucks will do......I'll be waiting.....

Pennsylvania Wild Woman

P.S. It's the only money were asking for.....we've been bailout free since 1902.

P.P.S. Of course if you decide to extend the 'Cash for Clunkers' program to include farm machinery our 1948 Hi-clear sure could used replaced....we bought it new, paid cash too, it still's just a little rough.

Day 8 - Keepin' It Real

My husband just does not like my that's wrong.....

My husband does not like my camera pointed at him.......errrrrm still not quite accurate.....

My husband does not like my camera pointed at him when he is trying to deliver a serious safety message regarding firearm safety to me.

He says I don't pay attention.

I do pay attention....but I'm a woman...and therefor can multi-task EXTREMELY well.

I still love you, you grumpy bugger.....even though you growl and scowl at me.

P.S. If you don't accept my multi-tasking capabilities as normal...I'm going to make you go to couples won't like it there. They will make you talk about your FEELINGS. That's more mind reading and body language interpretation for me. You will be required to talk about what your feeling. Are you scared...huh huh are should be. LOL!!!

Day 7 Got Mud?

Saturday I went out to Pearson Park to JeepFest 2009. What's JeepFest you might ask? It's like a Jeep Jamboree. I was under strict orders from Hubby that I was not to participate with our Jeep.....I was going as a spectator only.

It was unfair....but in the end I kept my wheels on the asphalt and just had a little fun with my camera. Meet some great folks and I will be back next year to have a little fun in the mud!

Day 6 - The End

It's okay Charlotte we'll find another activity for fall.....

Charlotte watching the polo ponies leave the field for the last time this season Friday night in Darlington. It's a total bummer.....totally! Sitting here thinking about it is brining on a hissy fit, I can feel it comin'....I think I need a snack and a nap.

Day 5

A corner landscape in New Wilmington, PA. A lovely sweep of blue and gold!

Day 4 - Dizzy Dragons

Fun at the Lawrence County Fair with Sisterella and the Munchkins! The Dizzy Dragon's almost did me in though. Around and around and around. Yikes...Barf bags should be supplied when you board.

Final Match

Last chance to catch some Polo action in Darlington for the season. Game starts at 8.

Day 3

Possible one of my least favorite places in the world! But if I do laundry at the farm the whites turn orange. Sigh....

Day 2

Quercus palustris aka Pin Oak (Swamp Oak)

I love Pin Oak...Mighty Oaks that get big and have such a unique form with descending, lateral and ascending branches all on the same tree when young. They are just a fantastic tree!

Not to mention that they keep the squirrels well fed through the winter!

Day 1

365-1_edited-1.jpg, originally uploaded by Pa Wild Woman.

Hubby likes to shop for one thing only......Equipment. Sunday we went for a drive with the girls and stopped off for a peak at the 'new' tractor dealer in the area.

Any one want to guess on what this piece of equipment is? I know all you farm girls will probable know.

Project 365

I took this picture last Thursday. I was sitting in the Jeep after ordering Chinese take-a-way. I got the camera out and started to play around with the exposure taking different frames. I knew what I wanted I just didn't know how to get it. When I thought that maybe I had finally captured the shot I brought my exposure down one more stop and took one last shot. Good thing. Because this is what I was aiming for. I wanted to see those late afternoon sunbeams.

And that got me thinking.....

What am I going to do with this photo....I mean I know that I don't have to post it....and the idea was to play around with the camera and learn ...but I like the shot. And maybe if I post it someone will critique it.

Project 365. People can set there own rules. For my Project 365 the only rules are as follows:

Take a picture everyday... hopefully with the SLR, but could be with the point & toss or the cell phone.

Post it on the blog.

I started taking pictures on Sunday for this project so I'll be working on a three day lag.

On some days the 365 picture will be my only post (I've never posted every day before) may be just a picture....I may write something along with it. Other days there may be a second entry...if i took other pictures I like or have something more to say. Either way...please feel free to comment/critique the photos. I really would like to know how it made you feel...or just a critique would be good. My regular blogging will not be interrupted.

Anyone care to join me? Project 365 will get you taking pictures even if you are running on limited time and life is a mess. It will give 5-10-15-20 minutes to stop, breath, look around and take a picture. If your going to join along please let me know....I'm going to put a 365 list over in the sidebar.

Polo Revolution

Now...can anyone figure out what point this guy is trying to make? He's rockin' a Che Guevara T-shirt, American flag, fanatical fan face paint, and a good ol' hamburger and french a polo match. Really I just want to understand....

Of course someone we all know and love took this to heart......
She came home and immediately set to work on her 'Manifesto'. She has some surprising and shocking views regarding Cats and Pet Health Insurance.

Hey Charlotte

Hey Charlotte,

Do you know what day it is? It's Friday girl....get your little self loaded up in the car.....cause were headed to Darlington for POLO!

Nothing Say's Summer Like a Half Eaten Hot Dog

I posted a picture of my nephew on Monday....and I'm an equal opportunity kinda auntie....

My hubby, scopin' up and lovin' on my adorable niece a couple weeks at the polo match.

Question....Where do you stand on facial hair....particularly male facial hair? I've been begging hubby to keep the mustache and shave off the hangy downy droopy caterpillars. He won't do it though. Ugh!

August 11, 2009

What your opinion on this type of photo. I was drawn to it in the group because his whole self filled the frame. And of course I know I think that this captured his 'self' really well. It's probable a little bit overexposed.

Puppies, kids, warm summer's a good life!

Sisterella had a recent addition to the family. A Mastiff puppy named Diesel. He is going to be BIG.

Are you a dog person? Big dogs, little dogs, size doesn't make a difference?

Size doesn't matter to me....I like a big attitude though....but you knew that already right.....because of the Jacks!

Runnin' With The Big Dogs

This is my husbands version of walkin' Clarice. It's not really very effective at workin' off the pounds on her little round self. But as soon as she hears the quad fire up she is right there. He gets a kick out of listening to her.

Huh? What? Listening?

Yeah...she howls the entire time it's movin' the faster he takes her the louder she howls.

It's 'pee your pants' funny!

August 5, 2009

Pup-Pup is well on the mend. She is still on leash lock down. Which as you can see is a major bummer for her.

Last week this blog received an award.....which you all know I love.......from JoMo at peaceofpi Studio
