The Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside My Window... an orange and white feral cat is walking along a field of Euonymus alatus 'compacta' aka Burning Bush, marking his territory.
I am thinking... I could really use a little sunshine.  Just an hour or so would be so very nice.
I am thankful... Charlotte Pup Pup!  Her bright disposition and energy are contagious.
From the kitchen... Vegetable soup with leeks Rosemary & thyme.
I am wearing... A wonderful comfy light grey polar fleece with bell selves, split sides and a Mandarin collar.  The cuffs, collar and hem have blanket stitching.  It was a wonderful post Christmas gift from my Mum, purchased at Coldwater Creek.  The rest is the daily uniform of jeans and lace up work boots.
I am creating... project boards.
I am going... to the barn.
I am reading... Darcy & Elizabeth: Nights and Days At Pemberly by Linda Berdoll (sigh)
I am hoping... for a nice birthday... Sunny!
I am hearing... An Excavator, footsteps, papers shuffling.
Around the house... things are quiet.  The JRT's need a nice long walk.
One of my favorite things... Mr. Darcy
A few plans for the rest of the week... A night out (hopefully), more painting at Sisterella's (probable), stall cleaning (most definitely).
The picture thought I am sharing... I need a bit of color.  The closest thing to sunshine in the my archives.  Acer palmatum var. 'Bloodgood' aka Bloodgood Japanese Maple in fall glory.

You have "Crack" Russels? Ha I just read The Wifes, post. I too have a little "Angel" I love the little torpedo. SHe is a great little dog. I have had two others that were wonderful. I miss both terribly. They were both long legged smooth coats. Ryley is a long legged broken coat. Stop by and check her out. She too loves to excavate! Aren't they the best little pups? Oh nice to meet you btw!

Mr Darcy is quite acceptable here too!
Lucky you with Coldwater Creek. I see the adverts in magazines from the US and the clothes look delectable, but the cost of shipping and taxes puts them out of reach for mail order.

Glad to see other Darcy fans here.

Train Wreck....'Crack' Russell's. Tooooo funny!

Coming over from hayseed. I see you love the Outlander series as much as I do. I am reading them for the 4th time :)

Tami said...

Sarah....WELCOME! I'm a fan of all things Gabaldon. I've read the series through start to finish twice. I read Outlander again at the end of the year...and will start slowly re-reading the whole with the anticipation that the next will be published by the end of the year.

The absolute stinker with her books is that if your a fan a 'big' books. She ruins you for a regular 'ol read. Because the detail is so darn stunning. But they are really BIG books.

Anyhoo...nice to 'meet' ya and I do hope you come back.

Tami, what lovely reflections! I enjoyed that very much. And we must have been thinking the same thing with our "warm" photos today. I can barely type right now, my hands are so cold. Heading off to bed now to snuggle under the covers. :) BTW, I love seeing your little doggy on my blog. So cute!

I love that picture. Its so colorful. I wish it was fall again!

Thanks for the comments on the picture. This Japanese Maple is very old. And it is the required purple leaves in the summer. But it pops in with a wonderful surpise in the fall with the reddish/orange. Very pleasing to the eye. And very warming to the spirit.

As for Linda Berdoll's Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife....I daresay that it will have you reaching for your fans...and the blush it induces will well neigh last quite some time.
